In the fourth season of HBO‘s hit series The White Lotus, the guests are vacationing in France. Production for the much-anticipated season is officially underway after an intense search for the next location following a successful Thailand-set third season. While the characters are the biggest allure in The White Lotus, the unsung hero is the location where they find themselves. It allows the characters to clash with a different reality, and the facade collapses. It’s important to cast actors who best fit the parts, and production has already begun adding top-tier French talent for the upcoming season.
A new report reveals that Vincent Cassel, Corentin Fila, and Nadia Teresezkiewicz have joined The White Lotus Season 4. Details about their characters remain scarce, but based on the trajectory previous seasons have taken, these are the locals. They are the managers, bell boys, and wellness therapists. Cassel, Fila, and Tereszkiewicz join already announced cast members Sandra Bernhard, Helena Bonham Carter, Steve Coogan, Caleb Jonte Edwards, Ari Graynor, Marissa Long, Alexander Ludwig, Chris Messina, AJ Michalka, and Dylan Ennis.
Cassel, Fila, and Tereszkiewicz are French actors with credits across television and film. Cassel is a legend on the international stage with roles in films like Black Swan and Jason Bourne. The White Lotus marks his return to HBO after guest-starring in seven episodes of the hit sci-fi series Westworld. Fila is best known for starring in André Téchiné‘s intense gay romance drama Being 17 and for appearing in Apple TV‘s La Maison. Tereszkiewicz has had roles in the movies Two Pianos and Babysitter. The White Lotus would be Fila and Tereszkiewicz‘s breakout roles, depending on the screentime their characters receive.
What Is ‘The White Lotus’ Season 4 About?
Series creator Mike White has said before that every season of the show explores different themes. From class to sex and spirituality, each season anchors itself in issues pertinent to modern society. In Season 4, The White Lotus explores fame — and the idea occurred to White while filming Survivor. “I don’t know if that’s [social media and fame] exactly the theme of the next season of White Lotus, but it’s definitely something I’ve thought about a lot — prioritizing likes or the attention of strangers over creating real relationships,” White said in an interview with W Magazine. He added:
“It’s a bit about fame, about who has the world’s attention, who is the plus-one, and how that can organize a relationship. Some people are satisfied with the love of just an intimate partner, and some people need the love of strangers and a bigger kind of attention.”
The White Lotus Season 4 does not have a premiere date yet, but we’ll keep you updated.
