Another DCU hero has joined the cast of Man of Tomorrow.
DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures’ Man of Tomorrow is scheduled to arrive in United States theaters in 2027. Written and directed by James Gunn, the follow-up movie to 2025’s Superman will see David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult reprise their roles as Superman/Clark Kent and Lex Luthor.
Who has joined the cast of Man of Tomorrow?
Now, per Jeff Sneider’s The InSneider and The Hollywood Reporter, it has been revealed that Aaron Pierre will be appearing in Man of Tomorrow as the Green Lantern character John Stewart.
How big a role Pierre has in the DCU movie remains to be seen; however, Sneider reports that it “won’t be a quick cameo, as Gunn’s sequel has forced him to turn down other projects in recent weeks.”
Pierre’s John Stewart character will debut in Lanterns, the forthcoming DCU show that is set to arrive on HBO Max this August. Created by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King, that show also stars Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, and Ulrich Thomsen as Sinestro.
Production on Man of Tomorrow is expected to begin in April in Atlanta, Georgia. In addition to Corenswet, Hoult, and now Pierre, the cast of the movie includes Lars Eidinger as Brainiac, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, and Maria Gabriella de Faria as The Engineer.
Plot details remain largely under wraps at this time; although, it is known that the movie will see Superman and Lex Luthor have to work with one another to take down a greater threat, presumably Brainiac.
Man of Tomorrow will be released on July 9, 2027. Superman, meanwhile, is currently available to stream on HBO Max.
