‘For All Mankind’ to Officially End with Season 6!!

For All Mankind is heading toward its endgame. Apple TV has officially renewed the acclaimed space drama for a sixth and final season, giving the series one last chapter just before Season 5 blasts off later this week. For a show that has been one of Apple’s signature originals since the platform launched in 2019, it is a big moment, and it means the creators will get the chance to land this story the way they always intended.

Season 5 premieres on Friday, March 27, with one episode, followed by weekly releases every Friday through May 29. Apple has also lined up the franchise’s next expansion right behind it, with the spin-off series Star City set to debut globally on May 29. That gives For All Mankind fans a pretty packed runway, even as the main series starts moving toward its final mission.

Creators Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi said in Apple’s announcement, “Getting to explore the For All Mankind universe over six seasons has been an amazing privilege, and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to finish the story the way we’ve always hoped.” Apple TV programming chief Matt Cherniss also praised the show’s run, calling it one of Apple’s “most enduring and celebrated series” and saying the platform cannot wait for viewers to see how the story ends.

The returning cast for Season 5 includes Joel Kinnaman, Toby Kebbell, Edi Gathegi, Cynthy Wu, Coral Peña, and Wrenn Schmidt, with new series regulars Mireille Enos, Costa Ronin, Sean Kaufman, Ruby Cruz, and Ines Asserson joining the ensemble.

How Good Is ‘For All Mankind’?

Therese Lacson stated in her review that For All Mankind Season 5 continues to prove why the series is one of Apple TV’s most ambitious and rewarding sci-fi dramas, expanding its alternate-history world while keeping its emotional core firmly grounded in humanity. What began as a Cold War space race drama has now evolved into a sprawling, multi-generational story set in a fully colonized Mars, and the transition feels earned rather than overwhelming.

The creators of the series have always planned a seven-season arc, and For All Mankind is proof that when streamers have faith in their shows and allow them to grow, they can create pure magic. With each episode, Season 5 builds tension while giving us brief moments of relief, all culminating in another massive shift that promises to usher in a completely new and exciting age.

For All Mankind is streaming now on Apple TV.
