The makers of Aakhri Sawal, starring Sanjay Dutt, have officially announced that the film will release in cinemas on May 15, 2026. Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Abhijeet Mohan Warang, the project has generated early buzz following the release of its first glimpse and a newly unveiled poster.
The latest poster features an intense close-up of Sanjay Dutt’s face embedded within a large question mark, hinting at the film’s central theme. Accompanied by the tagline, “The Question India Never Stopped Asking,” the visual sets the tone for a narrative rooted in historical inquiry. Sharing the poster on social media, the makers wrote, “The question India never stopped asking. Get ready to know the answer on 15th May only in cinemas.”
According to the makers, Aakhri Sawal is based on a story spanning over a century, tracing the journey of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, founded by Keshav Baliram Hedgewar in 1925. The film is expected to depict a key historical meeting that influenced the country’s trajectory, while exploring themes of nation-building and selfless service.
Apart from Sanjay Dutt, the film features an ensemble cast including Amit Sadh, Namashi Chakraborty, Sameera Reddy, Tridha Choudhury and Neetu Chandra. Director Abhijeet Mohan Warang, who received a Special Mention at the 67th National Film Awards for his Marathi film Picasso, helms the project. The film is produced by Nikhil Nanda, Dhanraj Nathwani and Sanjay Dutt under the banners of Nikhil Nanda Motion Pictures and Neem Tree Entertainment.
