‘Deadpool’ Star Stefan Kapičić Joins Keanu Reeves in New Sci-Fi Film!!

Tim Miller has lined up a few reunions for his untitled new original sci-fi action flick. Last October, he landed Keanu Reeves to lead the high-concept project after the pair previously worked together on Miller‘s animated video game anthology series Secret Level. Plot details have been mostly kept under wraps, but reports have claimed that the John Wick star will be playing a smuggler caught in a life-threatening double cross in the Caribbean Sea. Now, the director is re-teaming with another of his beloved actors, a full ten years after they became a fan-favorite on his megahit Deadpool.

A new report has confirmed that Colossus himself, Stefan Kapičić, has been tapped to join the mystery project, which is currently in production in the Dominican Republic. Like with Reeves, nothing is confirmed about Kapičić‘s character, though he’s believed to potentially be playing an antagonist. He’s the latest high-profile addition to a cast that also features F1 alum Callie Cook, Steven Waddington, Nicholas Duvernay, Abraham Popoola, Anastasia Sofonav, and Bobby Holland Hanton. Miller will direct from a script penned by Infinite scribe Ian Shorr.

This latest team-up will be the third for Kapičić and Miller, as, in addition to the metal-skinned mutant, he also appeared in the episode “The Secret War” from Miller‘s acclaimed animated anthology Love, Death & Robots. He’s kept quite busy outside of their unions, though. Back in 2024, he reprised his role as Colossus for the third time in Shawn Levy‘s billion-dollar MCU smash Deadpool & Wolverine after expanding the character in Deadpool 2. He was also notably aboard The Last Voyage of the Demeter, appeared in the acclaimed Breaking Bad spin-off, Better Call Saul, and was a fixture among the voice cast of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot series.

What Else Do We Know About Miller’s New Sci-Fi Action Film?

Although the actual plot of Miller‘s film remains under wraps, it has earned some interesting comparisons to Tom Cruise‘s time-loop epic Edge of Tomorrow and the harrowing Blake Lively shark survival movie, The Shallows. It was also initially unveiled under the name Shiver, though that has since been dropped while a new title is formulated. For now, though, Miller and company will keep everybody waiting for more details as to what this project entails. Matthew Vaughn, Aaron Ryder, Andrew Swett, and John Zaozirny are producing, while Scott Lumpkin is attached as an executive producer.

Miller‘s new film is due out in theaters on August 13, 2027.
