‘The Pitt’ Season 2 Finale Officially Set for Rare Theatrical Release!!

The Pitt Season 2 has been streaming on HBO Max for almost two months, and the show is finally set to conclude with three more episodes over the next three Thursdays. Although the entire season has taken place over only one shift at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center — a characteristic that has become a trademark for the show — a lot has certainly happened since our favorite doctors and nurses clocked in this morning. It’s been a rough day for everyone, especially Dr. Robby (Noah Wyle), who has been introduced to his replacement before he goes on his lengthy sabbatical. Many fans aren’t convinced that Dr. Robby is coming back from his trip, though, especially after his strange conversation with his fellow attending, Dr. Jack Abbot (Shawn Hatosy). Robby’s in a dark place, and only time will tell how (and if) he crawls out of it.

Despite all these doubts, it would be surprising if Noah Wyle wasn’t back to play Dr. Robby in The Pitt Season 3, which has already been confirmed and is in the process of being written right now. Before we move to another day at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center, though, we have to get through the Season 2 finale, which will air on Thursday, April 16, at 9 pm EST. This afternoon, HBO Max and Warner Bros. TV announced a partnership with Alamo Drafthouse theaters nationwide to host Healthcare Appreciation Screenings for The Pitt Season 2 finale three days early, on Monday, April 13. Any and all healthcare professionals, active or retired, are encouraged to reserve their seat with the purchase of a $10 food and beverage voucher. These screenings will take place in New York City, New York, Boston, Massachusetts, Raleigh, North Carolina, Naples, Florida, Dallas and Austin, Texas, Denver, Colorado, San Francisco, California, Twin Cities, Minnesota, and Los Angeles, California. Ticket information is now available at the official Alamo Drafthouse website.

Will ‘The Pitt’ Season 3 Be Back Next Year at the Same Time?

HBO has yet to officially announce if The Pitt will return with its third season in the same window that it has premiered for Seasons 1 and 2. However, now that we know the next season is being written and schedules are being ironed out, it’s a safe bet that The Pitt Season 3 will be released next year, even if it takes a month or two longer than normal. The demand for the show leaves HBO with no choice but to provide a quick turnaround.
