Netflix recently debuted the official trailer for The Chestnut Man Season 2: Hide and Seek. As of writing, the footage, running for two minutes and 12 seconds, has garnered over 4000 views. The sequel launches globally on May 7, 2026, and will consist of six episodes like its predecessor.
Season 2’s narrative sees returning protagonists, Copenhagen police investigators, Mark Hess (Mikkel Boe Følsgaard) and Naia Thulin (Danica Curcic), deal with a mystery surrounding the disappearance of a woman. While investigating, the pair learns she was stalked for months.
As they progress in their case, they learn about a stalker who plays hide and seek with his victims. They learn that this person not only surveilled the woman but also sent her photos and videos, as well as a nursery rhyme-style counting song that seems innocent on the surface.
Hess and Thulin later discover that the woman has been murdered. They soon realize that the murder case is possibly linked to an unsolved one from two years ago involving a 17-year-old high school student.
In addition to Curcic and Følsgaard, the upcoming season will star Sofie Gråbol and Katinka Lærke Petersen.
Dorte W. Høgh and Emilie Lebech Kaae created and wrote the series. Meanwhile, Milad Alami and Roni Ezra assumed directorial responsibilities, with the former behind the conceptualization. Morten Kjems Hytten Juhl and Stine Meldgaard Madsen are the producers, while Meta Louise Foldager Sørensen served as executive producer.
The Chestnut Man Season 1 holds 100% fresh critical and healthy 83% scores on Rotten Tomatoes. The story saw Hess and Thulin go after a killer connected to the disappearance of a politician’s child after finding a figurine made of chestnuts next to a dead woman’s body.
