‘Big Little Lies’ Season 3 Is Finally Moving Forward According to Series Creator!!

This week, the prolific David E. Kelley is blessing us with another novel adaptation, making its streaming debut on Apple TV on Wednesday, April 15. Based on Rufi Thorpe‘s bestseller, Margo’s Got Money Troubles stars Elle Fanning as the titular Margo, who turns to OnlyFans for income after an affair with her junior college English professor ends in pregnancy. Billed as a “bold, heartwarming, and comedic family drama,” the series features eight episodes, which will be released weekly through May 20, 2026.

Alongside Fanning, Margo’s Got Money Troubles features a star-studded line-up, including the likes of Michelle Pfeiffer, Nick Offerman, Marcia Gay Harden, Greg Kinnear, Michael Angarano, Rico Nasty, and Lindsey Normington, as well as marking the third collaboration between Kelley and the ever-brilliant Nicole Kidman. Ahead of the arrival of Margo’s Got Money Troubles, another of Kelley and Kidman‘s team-ups has garnered more attention. Released in 2017, the starry, darkly comic mystery series Big Little Lies was a huge hit for HBO, and, following a second season in 2019, fans have been desperately calling for more.

It now seems that the wheels are finally turning on that long-awaited third season, according to Kelley himself. In a recent interview, Kelley was asked about the progress of an adaptation of Liane Moriarty‘s Big Little Lies sequel novel, which is due to debut this summer. “We’re just getting started on that,” Kelley announced, adding, “Writers are assembling and business affairs are securing deals, so we’re at the beginning of the beginning. But we do hope to set sail by the end of the year.” In a separate interview, Kelley potentially put worries about the cast of Season 3 to bed, saying, “We’re getting the band back together, and it should be a good run again.”

‘Big Little Lies’ Was a Big Little Hit

Packed with star power, including Zoë Kravitz, Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern, Meryl Streep, Alexander Skarsgård, and Adam Scott, Big Little Lies was unlikely to disappoint. On review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the series has averaged an impressive score of 89% across its two seasons to date, with the opening season outscoring the second. The consensus on the site for Season 1 reads, “Bitingly funny and highly addictive, Big Little Lies is a twisty, thrilling, enlightening ride led by a first-rate cast.”
