It’s been a long wait for Citadel to get back in the field, but Prime Video has finally announced the return date for their big budget spy thriller from Joe and Anthony Russo. The series made a big swing when it first launched, throwing Richard Madden, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Stanley Tucci into a slick, high-stakes world of secret agencies, memory loss, and betrayals that never seemed to stop coming. Whatever anyone thought of the first outing, the show never lacked ambition, and they’re having another go of it for the sophomore outing.
Prime Video has now released the official trailer for Citadel and confirmed that all seven episodes of the new season will debut on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. The series will stream exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide, giving the series a big global event-style loadout in one swift move, or they’re putting all online at once to get it out of the way. It’s anyone’s guess.
What Is ‘Citadel’ Season 2 About?
This time around, Citadel once again follows Mason Kane, Nadia Sinh, and Bernard Orlick, the elite operatives played by Madden, Chopra Jonas, and Tucci. After the fall of the legendary Citadel agency at the hands of Manticore, the shadowy network backed by some of the world’s most powerful families, the trio is pulled back into action when a terrifying new threat. Now they must recruit an unlikely team of skilled new operatives and launch a globe-spanning mission to stop a conspiracy that could reshape humanity. The returning cast includes Lesley Manville and Ashleigh Cummings, while the ensemble is expanding with Jack Reynor as Hutch, Matt Berry as Franke Sharpe, and Lina El Arabi as Celine. New additions also include Merle Dandridge, Gabriel Leone, and Rayna Vallandingham.
All seven episodes of the new season of Citadel will debut on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.
