
Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur continues to expand his global footprint, confirming that he is developing a tentpole romance series for Amazon Studios U.S., based on the bestselling novel ‘My Name Is Memory’ by Ann Brashares.
Confirming the development, Shekhar Kapur shared on X, “I have signed with Amazon Studios in the U.S. to adapt, direct and produce a tentpole series based on the bestselling novel… My Name Is Memory.”
The project, which Shekhar Kapur will develop, direct, and produce, underscores the international scale of the venture, positioning it as a high-concept, cross-border series anchored in a sweeping narrative that spans time and geographies. Originally penned by Ann Brashares, the novel is widely known for its deeply emotional and expansive storytelling.
He further described the story as “a beautiful and intense love story that transcends and survives internal and external conflicts over many centuries and geographies,” adding that, “It is an exciting, mysterious, heartbreaking and ultimately heartwarming adventure… that takes the audience through wars, conflict and empires, and even into the future.”
