In just a few weeks, Keeper and The Monkey star Tatiana Maslany makes her return to television via a leading role in Apple TV’s eagerly-awaited new series Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed. The Orphan Black and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law favorite will leave the worlds of superheroes and sci-fi behind her as she embarks on a darkly comedic journey that follows her character, Paula, through a stressful, exhausting, and downright dangerous chapter of her life. In addition to Maslany, the upcoming production has assembled a knock-out cast that also includes the talents of Jake Johnson (New Girl), Dolly de Leon (Triangle of Sadness), Charlie Hall (The Sex Lives of College Girls), Brandon Flynn (13 Reasons Why), Murray Bartlett (The White Lotus), and more.
Today, we are thrilled to share a first look at the title’s latest teaser that better showcases the unhinged mess that Paula will soon find herself in when Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed celebrates its two-episode premiere on May 20, with new installments to follow on Wednesdays. The Apple TV project is the latest to hail from creator, showrunner, and executive producer David J. Rosen, who previously brought audiences the Jason Ritter and Alexis Bledel-led sitcom, Us & Them. Standing behind the helm of your new twisted episodic obsession is none other than The Exorcist: Believer, Halloween Ends, and Pineapple Express director David Gordon Green.
The fresh look at Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed depicts the free fall into hell that faces Paula after a video chat with a webcammer goes haywire. After witnessing the man on the other end of the call get abducted, Paula must make a decision about what to do. But, when it becomes clear that the kidnappers know much more about her than she first thought, Paula finds that she’s fully involved whether she wants to be or not. On a mission to find and put an end to her taunters before they do the same to her and her webcam friend, Paula takes things into her own hands and dives headfirst into the madness, all while bringing her friends and her ex along for the ride.
What Else Is Tatiana Maslany Up To?
In addition to Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed, the year also saw Maslany return to the small screen courtesy of Paramount+’s Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. In the world of cinema, she recently welcomed the world premiere of her crime thriller flick, Noah Segan’s The Only Living Pickpocket in New York, while The Young People, her latest pairing with frequent collaborator Osgood Perkins, is expected to be released later this year.
