‘The Woods’: Netflix Announces New Harlan Coben Series With Tom Bateman & Michelle Keegan!!

The next TV show from Harlan Coben at Netflix has been revealed. The series now has an official title and a cast.

Who is involved in Netflix’s new Harlan Coben TV show?

Netflix revealed that Coben’s new show is called The Woods, based on the author’s 2007 novel of the same name. It marks Coben’s 14th series for the streamer.

Tom Bateman and Michelle Keegan headline the cast of The Woods. Bateman plays Paul “Cope” Copeland, a single father who believes his missing sister of 20 years might still be alive. Keegan, who starred in Coben’s Fool Me Once, portrays Lucy Silverfield, Cope’s first love, who helps him investigate the disappearance.

“Twenty years ago, Paul ‘Cope’ Copeland’s sister, Camille, vanished from a summer camp in the woods, a loss that tore his family apart. Now a top barrister and devoted single father to ten-year-old daughter Cami, Cope appears to have rebuilt his life,” Netflix’s synopsis reads. “But when the body of a man turns up — twenty years after he was supposedly murdered alongside Camille — Cope becomes convinced his sister may have made it out of the woods alive too. Determined to uncover the truth, Cope reunites with his first love, Lucy Silverfield, and together they begin a search for answers, unearthing years of lies, cover-ups, and family secrets that threaten to destroy everything he has built.”

Besides Bateman and Keegan, The Woods also stars Mandeep Dhillon, Pearce Quigley, Rade Sherbedgia, James Buckley, Shannon Watson, Pamela Nomvete, Kerry Howard, Roger Barclay, Simon Lowe, Dean Fagan, Tom Allen, Tracy-Ann Oberman, Charlotte Beaumont, and Christopher Harper.

Coben created The Woods and serves as an executive producer. Coben’s frequent collaborator, Danny Brocklehurst, is the series writer and executive producer. Brocklehurst previously adapted Run Away, Fool Me Once, and Stay Close for Netflix.

Andy De Emmony and Claire Tailyour are directing the series. Will McDonagh is producing, while Nicola Shindler and Richard Fee are executive producers.

The Woods is now in production in Manchester and the North West of England. No release date has been announced.
