
Prime Video has shared the official trailer for the upcoming global launch of It’s Not Like That, its newest character-driven family drama starring Scott Foley (Felicity, Scandal). All eight episodes of the new series will finally be available to stream worldwide on Prime Video.
“It’s Not Like That follows Malcolm, a pastor who is a recently widowed dad of three. Lori is newly divorced with two teens. Their families once did everything together, but now Malcolm and Lori must navigate their newly minted singledom with parenthood,” reads the official synopsis. “The series explores multigenerational family dynamics and the complexities of rebuilding life after loss. The show blends heartfelt drama with warmth and humor, focusing on connection, second chances, and the realities of modern family life.”

What happens in the It’s Not Like That trailer?
The video features Foley as a widower trying his best to navigate the next chapter of his life, a year after his wife had passed away. Helping him is their long-time family friend Lori, who had promised his wife that she would look after their kids. This new phase of their lives will ultimately lead them to grow closer. The trailer highlights their budding romance, while also teasing how this will affect their respective families.
It’s Not Like That also stars Erinn Hayes, J.R. Ramirez, Caleb Baumann, Cary Christopher, Leven Miranda, Liv Lindell, and Cassidy Paul. It was created by showrunners Ian Deitchman and Kristin Robinson, who are the creative duo behind classics like Life As We Know It and Parenthood. Executive producers are Garrett Lerner, Jon Erwin, Justin Rosenblatt, Jon Gunn, Scott Foley, Brad Silberling, and Alex Goldstone. The series is a production by Amazon MGM Studios. Before its global launch, it first had its U.S. debut earlier this year on Wonder Project’s subscription on Prime Video.
