Dexter: Resurrection season 2 tapped a horror icon whose resume boasts not one but two of the genre’s most feared serial killers. The show’s writer and executive producer revealed the casting as production continues in New York City.
Kane Hodder joins the cast of Dexter: Resurrection Season 2
Writer and executive producer Scott Reynolds revealed on X that Kane Hodder has joined the cast of Dexter: Resurrection season 2. Hodder is best known for portraying Jason Voorhees in the Friday the 13th franchise and Leatherface in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III. Reynolds shared a photo alongside Hodder, captioning it, “13 days in. We couldn’t fight it. We cast KANE HODDER and let fate do the rest.”
Hodder played Jason Voorhees in four Friday the 13th films, including The New Blood (1988) and Jason Takes Manhattan (1989). He also performed stunts as Leatherface in Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III (1990). Additionally, Hodder portrayed Victor Crowley in the Hatchet horror franchise from 2006 to 2017.
The show has not revealed who Hodder will play in the upcoming season. Given his extensive history of portraying iconic slashers, he likely plays a serial killer within Leon Prater’s secret society. Peter Dinklage plays Prater, a billionaire venture capitalist who runs the clandestine group.
Season 2 has already added several notable cast members in villain roles. Brian Cox plays Don Framt, also known as the New York Ripper, an inactive serial killer who taunts his former victims. Dan Stevens plays Owen Stark, the Five Borough Killer, who taunts police with threatening phone calls. Cox previously played serial killer Dr. Hannibal Lecktor in Michael Mann’s Manhunter (1986).
New additions also include Nona Parker Johnson as Fiona Mixon, an NYPD homicide training officer and Harrison’s new love interest. Bokeem Woodbine joins as Captain Mixon, a homicide captain and Fiona’s father. Uma Thurman returns as Charley Brown. Season 2 began filming on April 13 and continues production in New York City.
