Prime Video is one of the biggest streaming services in the world, and Reacher has quickly become one of its most popular shows. Leading the show’s cast is Alan Ritchson, who has, over the last few years, become one of the biggest names in the streaming world through his work on the Prime Video series. Ritchson’s appeal was further enhanced when another streaming giant, Netflix, dropped the action star into one of its recently released original action movies. In a pulsating showdown between humanity and extraterrestrial machines, Ritchson in War Machine was a perfect blend, and the numbers support that notion.
However, Jack Reacher remains the most iconic character for Richtson at the moment, as the Prime Video hit — which is based on the Jack Reacher novels by Lee Child — is poised to continue adding to its collection. Season 3 ended in late March 2025 and saw Reacher come up against the towering villain Paulie, played by Olivier Richters. Since their feud ended in a Reacher triumph, anticipation for Season 4 has been heightened. The franchise itself is poised for an expansion with an upcoming Neagley spin-off already in the works. In late March 2026, Richtson confirmed to fans that Season 4 was officially done with a release window for later in the year.
As we await more news regarding the coming season, Prime Video has officially announced that Reacher has been renewed for Season 5. As Season 4 has yet to even set a release date, the early renewal is yet another show of Prime Video‘s faith in television’s most efficient human battering ram and the show he leads. Ritchson will reprise the titular role but other details about Season 5 are currently being kept under wraps ahead of Season 4.
Which Lee Child Novel Will ‘Reacher’ Season 5 Adapt?
With Season 5 of Reacher now officially in the works, it would not be out of place for thoughts to turn towards which Lee Child novel will be adapted next. Prime Video previously revealed that the next chapter of the series will adapt Gone Tomorrow, the 13th novel in Child’s bestselling series. The previous three seasons saw Season 1 adapt the first book, Killing Floor, the 11th book, Bad Luck and Trouble, played out in Season 2, and the seventh book, Persuader, for Season 3. At the time of writing, Prime Video has not confirmed which novel will take center stage yet in Season 5. With a total of 29 full-length novels to pick from, it would be difficult to pinpoint which book Season 5 might adapt, and that remains the biggest question yet.
Reacher Season 4 will premiere at a later date in 2026.
