‘A Quiet Place Part III’: First BTS Image Confirms Production on Long-Awaited Horror Sequel Has Officially Begun!! Check It Out!!

2025 was a quiet year for Cillian Murphy, who was still riding high thanks to his first Oscar win for his performance in Oppenheimer. Murphy starred in the low-key Netflix original movie, Steve, which spent weeks on streaming charts before finally fading into the void along with other Netflix movies like A House of Dynamite. Murphy has been busy in 2026 already, especially due to his reprising the role of Tommy Shelby in the Peaky Blinders spin-off film, The Immortal Man, which provides a seemingly definitive end to his time as the famous crime boss. Murphy fans were also elated to see him finally return as Jim in 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple earlier this year, but the future of the franchise is in jeopardy after the film underwhelmed at the box office. Director Nia DaCosta‘s film is the highest rated horror movie of the year despite the film’s box office woes.

Cillian Murphy will return to star in a third installment of A Quiet Place, which has already been scheduled for release on July 30, 2027. Plot details about the film are being kept under wraps at this time, but director John Krasinski took to his personal X account on Sunday to share the first-look image from behind-the-scenes of A Quiet Place Part III, confirming that cameras are rolling and production has officially begun. While Krasinski will not return to star in A Quiet Place Part III, which isn’t a surprise to those who have been following the movies, the cast does feature some big-time returning stars, like Emily Blunt and Jason Clarke. Sinners and 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple megastar Jack O’Connell has also been tapped for a role in John Krasinski’s third Quiet Place movie.

Has John Krasinski Directed Every ‘Quiet Place’ Movie?

John Krasinski directed the first two Quiet Place movies, but he passed directorial control to Michael Sarnoski for the prequel film, A Quiet Place: Day One. Sarnoski is famous for his work directing Pig (starring Nicolas Cage), and he’s been tapped to direct The Death of Robin Hood starring Hugh Jackman, which is coming to the big screen later this year. Jeff Nichols was originally in line to direct A Quiet Place: Day One (starring Joseph Quinn and Lupita Nyong’o), but he backed out of the project due to creative differences with writer and producer John Krasinski. Just last week, Krasinski told Collider, “Listen, I’m just really excited that I’m being given the chance to close out my chapter,.” He continued, “This was always seen as a trilogy in my head. I just wanted to figure it out in an organic way, and I think we have.”
