‘Running Point’ Renewed for Season 3!!

Netflix has had a huge year in 2026, thanks to some successful new releases in both the movie and TV mediums. One of the biggest new shows of the year for Netflix was His & Hers, the twisted crime thriller starring Jon Bernthal and Tessa Thompson that spent weeks at the top of streaming charts. Netflix started the year off strong thanks to The Rip, the Miami-set crime thriller starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck that has since landed the streamer in hot water due to a new lawsuit. The Rip held the title of the biggest Netflix movie of 2026 until the premiere of War Machine, the big-budget sci-fi epic starring Alan Ritchson, which has already earned over 125 million viewers. Netflix also has a full slate of exciting new projects confirmed to premiere before the end of the year.

One of Netflix’s sneakiest sleeper hits of the year so far has been the second season of Running Point, the comedy series led by Kate Hudson. The first season of Running Point premiered in its entirety last February, and only 14 months later, the show returned with its sophomore season, which wowed both critics and audiences before spending weeks atop streaming charts. This afternoon, Netflix officially decided the fate of Running Point when it confirmed that the Kate Hudson-led comedy has been renewed for Season 3. This news doesn’t come as that much of a surprise, considering the cliffhanger ending at the end of Season 2, to go along with the strong reception. It’s unclear at this time exactly when Running Point Season 3 will be released, but it’s a safe bet that the show will return before the close of 2027.

What Is ‘Running Point’ About?

The first season of Running Point follows Isla Gordon (played by Kate Hudson), who is thrust into a GM role for the fictional LA Waves basketball team after her brother lands in hot water. In the show’s second season, Isla has to work with her brother (played by Justin Theroux), who is now out of rehab and eager to resume his work with the team. The ending of Running Point Season 2 showed Isla’s brother jumping ship to one of the LA Waves’ biggest rivals, along with her former coach (played by Jay Ellis), which will certainly present her biggest challenge yet.
