‘The Batman: Part II’ Officially Adds Sebastian Stan to Play Harvey Dent!!

Few superheroes can regularly produce massive blockbuster hits like Batman. Plenty of actors have put on the cape and cowl over the years, and while it’s still unclear who will suit up as the next version of Bruce Wayne in James Gunn’s DCU, there is another Dark Knight-centric movie to be excited about. The Batman Part II, which is a direct sequel to The Batman (2022), appears to be barreling toward production, as director Matt Reeves has taken to X (formerly Twitter) to welcome the cast. The film is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on October 1, 2027. Plot details about The Batman Part II are still being kept under wraps at this time, but everyone involved who’s been asked about the script has said fans are in for a treat. In addition to returning stars like Robert Pattinson, Jeffrey Wright, and Andy Serkis, The Batman Part II will also feature some newcomers in key roles who were entirely absent from the first movie.

Just a few weeks ago, it was reported that Charles Dance had been cast as Christopher Dent in The Batman Part II. Famed for his role as Tywin Lannister in Game of Thrones, Chris Dent is the father of Harvey Dent, who will be played by MCU veteran Sebastian Stan. This afternoon, director Matt Reeves took to his personal X account to formally welcome Stan as Harvey Dent/Two-Face in the film with a gif from his recent horror movie Fresh. This came less than an hour after he shared a similar post welcoming Stan and Dance’s co-star, Scarlett Johansson, who is expected to play another member of the family, Gilda Dent. More images and details about The Batman Part II are soon to follow as production ramps up in the coming days and weeks.

Is Sebastian Stan Done With Marvel?

Sebastian Stan will return to the MCU later this year and reprise his role as Bucky Barnes in Avengers: Doomsday, which is slated for release on December 18. Stan is not yet confirmed to have a role in the follow-up, Avengers: Secret Wars, which has left many fans speculating that he may meet an unfortunate fate in the film at the hands of Doctor Doom (played by Robert Downey Jr). Stan has been playing Bucky for over 15 years now, so it wouldn’t be surprising if he were ready to focus on other projects.
