‘The Agency’ Season 2 Trailer Confirms the Return of Michael Fassbender led Spy Thriller Series Next Month!! Check It Out!!

Michael Fassbender is busy right now filming his new Netflix political thriller, Kennedy, which is expected to air later this year or early in 2027. First-look images of Fassbender behind the scenes of the series were released a few weeks ago. Fassbender is also famous for his blockbuster role as Magneto in Fox’s X-Men movies, and he’s even a two-time Oscar nominee for his daring performances in 12 Years a Slave and Steve Jobs. He previously made headlines after a four-year hiatus from acting with his return in The Killer, the 2023 David Fincher-directed hitman thriller that was released straight to streaming on Netflix. The film earned widespread acclaim from critics and audiences as one of the most methodical hitman movies of all-time.

Since his return to acting in 2023 with The Killer, Michael Fassbender has starred in a handful of projects, but perhaps none have been as successful as The Agency. The international espionage thriller also features some other big stars like Jeffrey Wright and Richard Gere, and despite premiering alongside the first season of Taylor Sheridan’s Landman, it was consistently one of Paramount’s most-watched titles in late 2024. Paramount picked up The Agency for a second season while the first was still airing, and more than a year removed from the Season 1 finale, the streamer has finally debuted the first official trailer for Season 2, also confirming that it will premiere on June 21. The show was recently picking up steam on Paramount Plus streaming charts while fans anxiously awaited news about the second season, and it’s expected to continue surging before its official return next month.

What Is ‘The Agency’ About?

The official synopsis for The Agency reads as follows:

“The Agency follows Martian (Fassbender), a CIA agent living undercover in his own life. Samia (Turner-Smith), his lover, is a political prisoner in Sudan, and he will do anything to try to save her, even past the point of treachery. The only way out is deeper in. A knife-edge Martian must walk if he is to save love, life, and his mission.”

Additional cast members beyond Fassbender, Wright, and Gere include Jodie Turner-Smith, Katherine Waterson, Harriet Sansom Harris, John Magaro, Saura Lightfood-Leon, India Fowler, Andrew Brooke, Christian Ochoa Lavernia, Reza Brojerdi, Ambreen Razia, and Alex Reznik. Dominic West and Hugh Bonneville guest star in the show, which was written and created for TV by John-Henry and Jez Butterworth. The Agency is perfect for fans of both Jason Bourne and Mindhunter, guaranteed to scratch the itch of international espionage and the methodical hunt for dangerous criminals.
