‘Lily May B’: Jenna Ortega to Lead New Dystopian Road Movie!!

Jenna Ortega has joined the cast of an acclaimed French director’s next movie. Announced at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, the film will start production in Spring 2027. Ortega will play the lead role in the film.

What do we know about Jenna Ortega’s dystopian road movie?

The film, titled Lily May B, comes from director Leos Carax. A report from Variety reveals that Lily May B will be a dystopian road movie. The film’s synopsis reads, “Once upon a time, there was a little girl, a young woman and a young boy. They each held a secret too heavy to bear. They met in an end-of-the-world world, and together rode a big motorcycle through empty cities, deserted freeways, immemorial forests. On their journey, they encountered many dangers, but kept going. In search of who they were; in search of a place to B, maybe?”

The film is being produced by Hugo Sélignac from Chi-Fou-Mi Productions. The report also came with the reveal of a concept art piece, with what appears to be an exchange of dialogue between characters. Besides the protagonist, Lily, a second character is named Dima. The concept art shows the three main characters sitting under a withered tree, beside a motorcycle.

To me, Leos Carax is one of the reasons I fell in love with Cinema,” said Selignac. “Having the chance to embark on this first journey alongside him means a great deal to me. ‘Lily May B’ carries forward his singular vision with the freedom, raw emotion, and visual power that are uniquely his. Seeing this universe meet Jenna Ortega’s immense talent today feels simply natural.

Leos Carax is a visionary director hailing from France. Carax is known for directing films such as Annette, Boy Meets Girl, Bad Blood, Pola X, and many short films. Annette, starring Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard, won Carax the best director award at Cannes in 2021.

Once upon a time, this is what destroyed us, and this is what kept us alive,” said Carax, teasing the film’s dreamlike aesthetic. Lily May B will be Carax’s seventh feature film. The report also revealed that the rest of the cast for Lily May Be will be revealed this September.

Jenna Ortega is known for her role as Wednesday Addams in the Netflix show. Ortega has also featured in newer installments of major franchises, including Scream 5 and 6, and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
