‘The Testaments’ Renewed for Season 2!!

Few stars are coming up in the movie and TV industry as fast and forcefully as Chase Infiniti, who is not-so-quietly becoming one of the most high-profile actresses in Hollywood. Infiniti had her breakout role a few years ago in Presumed Innocent, the Apple TV series co-starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Ruth Negga. Apple TV has renewed Presumed Innocent for a second season, but with the show being an anthology series, neither Infiniti nor any of her season 1 co-stars are expected to return. Infiniti also earned her first Golden Globe nomination last year for her performance opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in One Battle After Another, the Oscar-winner written and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. Infiniti was not recognized by the Academy for her performance in the $213 million action film, but it’s likely only a matter of time before she earns her first Oscar nomination.

Infiniti‘s third big role came earlier this year with the premiere of The Testaments, the spin-off of The Handmaid’s Tale, the hit Hulu dystopian sci-fi series led by Elisabeth Moss. Plenty of other big stars came and went throughout the six seasons of The Handmaid’s Tale on Hulu, including Sydney Sweeney, who can also be seen in the third and final season of Euphoria on HBO Max. Only one week remains until the Season 1 finale of The Testaments, but Hulu has made the easy decision to renew the show for Season 2, confirming that the story will not end next week with the finale. The show was written and created for TV by Bruce Miller, and additional cast members include Lucy Halliday as Daisy, Mabel Li as Aunt Vidala, Brad Alexander as Garth Chapin, Isolde Aridies as Hulda, and more.

What Is ‘The Testaments’ About?

The official synopsis for The Testaments Season 1 reads as follows:

“An evolution of The Handmaid’s Tale, The Testaments is a dramatic coming-of-age story set in Gilead. The series follows young teens Agnes, dutiful and pious, and Daisy, a new arrival and convert from beyond Gilead’s borders. As they navigate the gilded halls of Aunt Lydia’s elite preparatory school for future wives, a place where obedience is instilled brutally and always with divine justification, their bond becomes the catalyst that will upend their past, their present, and their future.”

Plot details about The Testaments Season 2 are being kept under wraps for now. More information about the show’s sophomore season will likely be made available later this year, when scripts are ironed out and production is closer to resuming.
