Channing Tatum’s racing drama has added a major Hollywood veteran to its cast. The motorcycle movie is set to begin filming this week with a Justice League star joining the project. Along with Tatum and Eve Hewson, the film has now added several new names and is being directed by Reid Carolin.
Ciarán Hinds joins the cast of Isle of Man
Ciarán Hinds is the latest big addition to the racing drama, Isle of Man. May Calamawy and Ruaridh Mollica have also joined the cast. The film already stars Channing Tatum, Eve Hewson, and Éanna Hardwicke. Production is scheduled to start on Friday. Brad Pitt’s Plan B is producing the movie alongside Tatum and Carolin’s company, Free Association.
The story revolves around the Isle of Man TT, one of the oldest and most dangerous motorcycle races in the world. Riders can reach speeds close to 200 mph on narrow public roads. The race has built a cult following because of its extreme danger, rich history, and high-pressure atmosphere. Fans of motorsports often view it as one of the toughest racing events ever created.
Director Reid Carolin said to Deadline that the team wants the movie to feel “immersive, visceral, and deeply human.” He also stressed that the production is working closely with race organizers and safety experts.
According to the filmmakers, strict medical and stunt protocols will be used throughout filming because of the dangerous racing sequences. “We’re incredibly grateful to the Isle of Man community and TT organizers for their partnership, collaboration, and commitment throughout the process,” Carolin continued.
Hinds brings decades of experience to the project. Many fans recognize him from Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, and his Oscar-nominated role in Belfast. Meanwhile, Tatum remains one of Hollywood’s biggest stars after films like Magic Mike, 21 Jump Street, The Lost City, and Blink Twice.
