James Gunn has shared a behind-the-scenes photo featuring Superman and Supergirl together. The throwback image gives fans an early look at David Corenswet and Milly Alcock in the DC reboot era. The post quickly picked up attention online as fans reacted to seeing the two Kryptonian heroes side by side. The photo also arrives as anticipation builds for the upcoming Supergirl movie. Notably, the DC Studios co-CEO also shared the same image back in 2025.

James Gunn posted an image from the set of Superman on social media. It shows David Corenswet wearing the Superman suit with visible bruises on his face, likely after filming an action-heavy sequence. Standing next to him is Milly Alcock, dressed casually in a blue hoodie while smiling for the camera.
In the caption, Gunn wrote, “First ever photo of the cousins together on the set of #Superman.” While this may be their “first” photo together, it’s not the first time the fans have gotten to see this. Gunn himself shared the image earlier, after the release of his 2025 film Superman.
Fans immediately flooded the comments section after the image appeared online again. Many viewers focused on the chemistry between the two actors before their characters officially shared the screen. Comments included, “Fav Cousin duo,” and “Super cousins!” Another fan wrote, “I love them sm, can’t wait to see them on screen together again!!” Others praised Gunn’s casting style, with one saying he continues to “hire more unknown actors” and give rising performers major opportunities.
Alcock’s Supergirl movie is based on Tom King’s 2022 comic series Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. The story follows Kara Zor-El after a ruthless enemy attacks someone close to her, sending her on a violent space journey driven by revenge and justice. The cast also includes Jason Momoa as Lobo, Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills, and Eve Ridley as Ruthye. David Krumholtz and Emily Beecham have also joined the cast, playing Kara’s parents.
Before landing the DC role, Alcock became widely known for playing young Rhaenyra Targaryen in House of the Dragon. She also appeared in Upright and The Gloaming.
