‘The Kellys’: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Liam Hemsworth to Star in Prime Video’s New Crime Thriller!!

Arnold Schwarzenegger may be at a different stage of his career now that he’s almost 80 years old, and while the legendary action star is certainly slowing down, he’s not retiring anytime soon. Schwarzenegger recently starred in two seasons of the Netflix original action show, FUBAR, along with Monica Barbaro. Barbaro is famous for her work in Top Gun: Maverick, and she also recently earned an Oscar nomination for her performance in A Complete Unknown. Fans could argue for hours about which of Schwarzenegger’s action movies is his most famous, but the one most famous would point to is The Terminator, the 1984 sci-fi action film directed by James Cameron. Similar to Ridley Scott’s Alien, James Cameron’s first Terminator movie spawned a franchise that’s still going to this day, now more than 40 years later.

It’s no secret that Schwarzenegger isn’t picking up as many projects as he once did, but the once-great action icon still keeps one eye open while he searches for a new hit. News broke this afternoon that Schwarzenegger will team up with Liam Hemsworth for a new crime thriller, The Kellys, which has landed at Amazon MGM. Amazon reportedly has no plans to give the film a theatrical release, meaning it will debut straight to Prime Video once it’s ready to be released. The Kellys comes from director Brad Peyton, and the film follows a disgraced NYPD officer whose wife is taken hostage by terrorists, forcing him to join forces with his family to save her. Peyton recently directed the polarizing Netflix sci-fi movie, Atlas, and he also worked with Dwayne Johnson on Rampage and San Andreas.

What Else Is Streaming on Prime Video Right Now?

There are a few big movies and TV shows on Prime Video paving the way for the arrival of The Kellys, which likely won’t premiere until sometime late next year, possibly even in 2028. The most popular movie on Prime Video at the time of writing is Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Ghost War, which stars John Krasinski. The film holds a narrow edge over Crime 101, the critically acclaimed heist thriller led by Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo. One of the most popular shows on Prime Video right now is Spider-Noir, the superhero series starring Nicolas Cage that was dropped as a binge last week.
