‘Raakh’: New Trailer Focuses on Ali Fazal’s Nationwide Manhunt!! Check It Out!!

Prime Video has unveiled the second trailer of its upcoming original series Raakh, offering a deeper look into the investigative thriller ahead of its premiere on June 12. Set in the late 1970s, the fictional crime drama follows a shocking case that triggers a nationwide manhunt while exploring the complex intersection of crime, justice, and human emotions. The series stars Sonali Bendre, Ali Fazal, and Aamir Bashir in lead roles, alongside Akash Makhija, Ramandeep Yadav, Divya Sharma, Vivaan Sharma, Anshul Chauhan, Rakesh Bedi, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya in pivotal roles.

The newly released trailer opens on an unsettling note with a close-up shot of a pair of eyes accompanied by a chilling laugh. It introduces viewers to Babu, played by Akash Makhija, and Rajjo, portrayed by Ramandeep Yadav, two individuals at the centre of a series of disturbing crimes. Through a series of rapid and intense visuals, the trailer hints at their troubled histories and the circumstances that shaped them.

At the same time, Ali Fazal’s SI Jayprakash is seen leading the hunt to track down the duo as they continue to evade authorities. As the pursuit intensifies, the trailer positions the story as a high-stakes battle between a determined police officer and two dangerous fugitives, while also delving into the psychological and emotional dimensions of the case.

Beyond the investigation, Raakh appears to focus on the impact of crime on those left behind. Speaking about the thematic core of the series, creators, writers, and co-directors Anusha Nandakumar and Sandeep Saket said, “At the end of the day, what stays with you from great crime stories is rarely just the crime or the investigation. You remember the deeply human emotions. With Raakh, we wanted audiences to explore emotional spaces they wouldn’t expect from a crime thriller, because crime is not the only thing that happens in a crime story — it’s also about everything else it leaves in its wake. From the very beginning, we weren’t interested in building a world that revolved solely around the mystery. We wanted to create a holistic emotional landscape around it—one that explored grief, guilt, love, anger, and the ways in which a single act can ripple through the lives of everyone it touches. For us, the most compelling question wasn’t just ‘Who did it?’, but ‘What does this do to the people left behind?‘”

Produced by Deepak Dhar, Rishi Negi, Mrinalini Jain, and Shyam Rathi under the banner of Endemol Shine India in association with BhaDiPa, Raakh is directed and executive produced by Prosit Roy. The series has been created, written, and co-directed by Anusha Nandakumar and Sandeep Saket, with dialogues by Ayush Trivedi.

With its blend of procedural investigation and emotional storytelling, Raakh is set to premiere exclusively on Prime Video on June 12 in Hindi across India and in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
