2026 has been a big year for Peaky Blinders fans, who were ushered back to Birmingham for the final chapter of Tommy Shelby’s story. Earlier this year, Netflix released Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, a sequel film set years after the events of Season 6 that returned stars such as Cillian Murphy as Thomas Shelby and even Stephen Graham as Hayden Stagg. Not long after the global premiere of The Immortal Man, Netflix confirmed that it is actively developing a new Peaky Blinders sequel series, which will be set in 1953, around 10 years after The Immortal Man. The first two names attached to star in the show were Jamie Bell and Charlie Heaton. Bell is taking over the role of Duke Shelby from Barry Keoghan, and Heaton is known for his role in Stranger Things.
Netflix’s Peaky Blinders sequel series is now in production and expected to be released sometime next year, but the show continues to build out its ensemble with new talent. This afternoon, Netflix announced a few casting additions to the Peaky Blinders sequel show, the most exciting of which is Conleth Hill, who will star as Clemmy Keeler, a rival gang leader. Hill is best known for his role as Varys in all eight seasons of the HBO original series, Game of Thrones. Cal O’Driscoll has also joined the cast of Netflix’s Peaky Blinders sequel series as Clemmy’s son, Aidan Keeler, with Lucie Shorthouse starring in the role of Kezia Lee, a new member of the Peaky Blinders. Daniel Monks will step into the role of Detective Inspector Bell. Lashana Lynch (The Day of the Jackal) has also been tapped for a role in the new series.
When Does Netflix’s New ‘Peaky Blinders’ Show Come Out?
Netflix has yet to set an official release date or window for the new Peaky Blinders show. However, now that filming has been underway for a few months now, and it’s expected to wrap before the end of the year, it’s not out of the realm of possibility for the show to premiere in early 2027. Original series creator Steven Knight wrote the new Peaky Blinders show — he’s also the scribe for the next James Bond movie in the works at Amazon with Denis Villeneuve directing.
