Fans in America have known the joys of both adaptations of The Tick, the superhero satire that asks the real question: Is the Tick even real? The Tick started in 2001 starring Patrick Warburton as Tick and David Burke as his trusty sidekick Arthur. In 2016, Prime Video rebooted the series with Peter Serafinowicz taking on the superhero role fresh off his stint in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Guardians of the Galaxy. His Arthur was Blank Check host Griffin Newman and the rest is history in Arthur’s mind. Maybe. Who knows whether this accountant turned hero actually did. And now you can decide for yourself if the Tick is real as both shows are heading to Netflix in the UK!

Based on a mascot turned comic character, The Tick has had a few adaptations, and now you can watch for yourself! Joining a long slate of iconic shows like Bones, The Rookie, and more, Netflix UK is getting both versions of The Tick on July 8 and July 15 respectively. So you can watch the original sitcom with Warburton first and then wait a week for the Serafinowicz season. Beats waiting 15 years for more of The Tick, right? But it is exciting that the series is being brought to a larger audience, especially after both shows were canceled after just one season.

Many of the cast of both of these shows are beloved by fans. Warburton has Seinfeld, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, and playing Lemony Snicket in the Netflix A Series of Unfortunate Events on his side. Serafinowicz was also on Parks and Recreation around the same time as The Tick and Guardians of the Galaxy, with Newman‘s podcast earning him a large fanbase. But so many of these fans have mourned the loss of The Tick after just one season in both regards.

Could This Lead to More of The Tick?

Given how fans rallied behind the show both before and after its cancellation when it was on Prime Video, it is exciting that more people are going to get to experience the imaginary magic of The Tick. But could this lead to Prime Video bringing back the show for Season 2? Who is to say? Maybe the third time is the charm and a third take on the character will be the success for Arthur and Tick. But for now, it is nice to know that people in the UK will know what it means when someone yells “SPOOOOOOOOOOOON!”
