The world’s most lethal enjoyer of Coco Pops is about to get her moment in the sunshine, after stepping from the shadows of the world’s largest sidekick. Jack Reacher may be the guy who wanders into a town, spots the local corruption problem, and smashes the hell out of it, but Frances Neagley is the one who tells him how to get into that town from the right side. Now, we’re about to see Neagley have her own story.
All eight episodes of Neagley will arrive on Prime Video on September 16, following directly after the Season 4 finale of Reacher. The series puts Maria Sten’s former 110th Special Investigators teammate at the centre of a new case after a close friend from her past is killed in what appears to be a suspicious accident. Of course, we know things are never an accident when Reacher (Alan Ritchson) and Neagley are around.
What’s ‘Neagley’ About?
Sten has played Neagley since the first season of Reacher, but the new series will give viewers a much closer look at the character beyond her connection to Ritchson’s Jack Reacher.
“I’m so excited about the world getting to know Neagley a little bit better,” Sten said. “I’m very grateful for the opportunity to just dive deeper into this character, you know? I’ve lived with her for quite a while now and I’m so thrilled to just get to sort of scratch the surface a little bit further compared to what we’ve seen so far.”
She also admitted that stepping into the lead role comes with a little pressure, especially because of how strongly fans have responded to both the books and the original Prime Video series.
“It’s very exciting to be given this opportunity, but of course there’s also a lot of pressure,” Sten said. “I put a lot of pressure on myself to do well and to carry on the legacy in a way that, you know, pays homage to Reacher and, of course, the books and the characters that Lee Child created.”
Sten leads the series alongside Greyston Holt (The 100) as Detective Hudson Riley, Adeline Rudolph (The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) as Renee Birdwhistle, Jasper Jones as Keno, Matthew Del Negro (Mayor of Kingstown) as Pierce Woodrow, and Damon Herriman (Justified) as Lawrence Cole. Ritchson will also guest star as Reacher.
