‘Young Sheldon’: New Book Exploring the Making of the Beloved Sitcom Sets October Release!!

It’s fair to say that Young Sheldon didn’t have much in the way of expectations when it debuted. For a series that began as a Big Bang Theory prequel nobody was entirely sure they needed, or even wanted, it ended up becoming one of the biggest sitcoms of the last decade and earned millions of fans who never watched a second of The Big Bang Theory itself. That’s proof that something special was cooked up, and now, we’re able to find out exactly what it was that made it so magical.

What’s Included in the ‘Young Sheldon’ Book?

It’ll tell the story of how Young Sheldon started out as what could have been seen as a cash grab by CBS, and a risky expansion, through to a seven season run and it becoming a legitimate phenomenon on streaming. The show was already a massive success on television, but that reached a whole new level when it found a huge new audience on Netflix, TikTok, and YouTube, eventually becoming the most-streamed show of 2024.

Radloff’s book will feature interviews with the full cast, co-creators Chuck Lorre and Steve Molaro, writers, producers, guest stars, and even the real-life parents connected to the show. It will explore everything from the Jon Favreau-directed pilot to the final episode, which brought back Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik as Sheldon Cooper and Amy Farrah Fowler.

The main Young Sheldon cast includes Iain Armitage as Sheldon Cooper, Zoe Perry as Mary Cooper, Lance Barber as George Cooper Sr., Montana Jordan as Georgie Cooper, Raegan Revord as Missy Cooper, Annie Potts as Meemaw, Jim Parsons as adult Sheldon’s narrator, and Emily Osment as Mandy McAllister.

Young Sheldon: The (Juicier-Than-Meemaw’s-Brisket) Inside Story of the Hit Comedy goes on sale October 20.
