‘Lethal Weapon’ Star Danny Glover Confirms Alzheimer’s Diagnosis!!

Few stars have given as much to their careers and the world as Danny Glover, who is best known for playing Roger Murtaugh in four Lethal Weapon movies opposite Mel Gibson. The two first starred in the action sensation of the late 1980s, and the film was such a big hit that it turned both of them into two of the biggest stars in Hollywood at that time. Between 1987 and 1998, Glover and Gibson brought four Lethal Weapon movies to the screen, and while there has been talk of a fifth, there have been no concrete updates on the film in a while. Following his work in the fourth and likely final Lethal Weapon movie, Glover went on to star in dozens of other action films, comedies, and dramas throughout the 2000s and 2010s, but his career has settled down in recent years.

This morning, during an recent interview, Lethal Weapon superstar Danny Glover sadly revealed that he has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Glover is soon to celebrate his 80th birthday later this month on July 22, and while he’s still in good spirits, he admits that he’s trying to find his footing after the diagnosis and come to terms with his new life. His daughter, Mandisa, said that she thinks “he’s aware sometimes and then other times he’s not.” Glover admits that he’s “still not accepting, in my mind, all parts of it. There are moments that you keep remembering that validate the fact that you can remember stuff. And there are moments I’ll never forget,” says the legendary actor, 79, of his memorable acting career and family life.

Danny Glover Isn’t Giving Up in His Fight With Alzheimer’s

During the same interview with People Magazine, Danny Glover said that he “doesn’t feel like it’s the end” of his life, and that “there’s still work to do.” His daughter, Mandrisa, said that she began to notice things change when Glover would tell the same stories he’s told his entire life, but pieces were missing. He recalled his “great” experience working with Mel Gibson on the four Lethal Weapon movies, and says that “acting is what gave me a voice. I began acting because I was a citizen.” Danny Glover also lived an entirely different life as an activist, working with other notable figures such as Nelson Mandela and Delroy Lindo, both of whom he shared great friendship and memories with.
