With the success of some of its most famous projects, Marvel has developed a reputation for working with some of the biggest actors in Hollywood. Few movies can offer the same pay and exposure as Marvel films — even the lowest-grossing MCU movies earn well into the nine figures. Looking at The Odyssey, one of the biggest movies of 2026, a pair of Marvel stars in Jon Bernthal and Tom Holland were recruited for key roles in the film. There are some actors, like Leonardo DiCaprio and Timothée Chalamet who are open with their stance on not starring in superhero films, but over the years, there have been few actors that Marvel wanted for a project but was unable to get.
One of the names rumored to star in Marvel projects for years is Adam Driver, who worked with the Disney brand on a trio of Star Wars sequel trilogy movies, where he starred as Kylo Ren/Ben Solo. In the last few months, there have been rumors swirling that Driver would be the next in line to star in Marvel’s X-Men reboot, with some people throwing out big characters like Magneto or Doctor Sinister, but there has been no confirmation about his casting in the project, or any other Marvel project for that matter, but Marvel boss Kevin Feige recently cleared the air on the matter. Feige recently sat down on an episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast hosted by Josh Horowitz, and he confirmed the rumors that Marvel has been trying to work with Driver for years, saying, “It’s no secret that we’d like to [work with Adam]. But it’s a tradition, to zoom with him and then he passes. He’s usually up front about how he’s feeling.”
When Does Adam Driver’s Next Movie Come Out?
Adam Driver has been tapped to star opposite Miles Teller and Scarlett Johansson in a new crime thriller, Paper Tiger, which is coming to theaters on November 20. Driver and Johansson previously worked together on Marriage Story, the 2019 film that’s streaming on Netflix. Driver has also been tapped to star in a new drama film, Misty Green, which was written and directed by Chris Rock, who also co-stars in the film with Anna Kendrick and Topher Grace. The movie has wrapped production but is still lacking an official release date at this time.
