The world of fantasy is as popular as it’s ever been, especially in the world of TV, when some of the biggest fantasy shows of all time are all releasing new seasons this year. HBO Max has dropped not one, but two different Game of Thrones spin-off shows, and both of which have already been renewed for new seasons. Meanwhile, Prime Video is set to unleash its most ambitious fantasy show ever for its third season, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, and work on Season 4 has already begun. Fantasy projects have proven to be a big investment in recent years, but it’s worth it to get out ahead of development to prevent long waits between seasons. Even Disney has fantasy shows like Percy Jackson and the Olympians, but the studio is hard at work on another highly anticipated fantasy epic.
The show in question is Warrior Cats — it was just announced back in June that the Warrior Cats animated TV show in the works had officially landed at Disney Plus, and it’s expected to air sometime in 2028. This afternoon, the Warrior Cats franchise received news of another expansion, when Trailmark Games and the Coolabi Group confirmed that Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest is officially in the works. In the new turn-based RPG, which is directly inspired by the Warrior Cats novel series, players hunt for prey, hone skills, and defend their home against other warriors to climb the ranks of their clan and unlock new secrets. The four clans, ThunderClan, RiverClan, ShadowClan, and WindClan will all appear in the game with different characters and challenges to pair with each. Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest is confirmed to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2 this fall at a currently undisclosed date.

Before the arrival of the Warrior Cats show on Disney Plus, subscribers to the platform have plenty of content to enjoy. The biggest movie on Disney Plus at the time of writing is The Devil Wears Prada 2, which grossed nearly $700 million at the box office before being added to streaming. To reach the top spot on Disney Plus streaming charts, The Devil Wears Prada 2 had to claw past Avatar: Fire and Ash, the third installment in the epic sci-fi franchise from visionary director James Cameron.
