‘Wonka 2’: Timothée Chalamet’s Fantasy Franchise Sequel Gets Confusing Update!!

The last few years have come up all Timothée Chalamet, who has quietly become one of the biggest stars in the world despite only being in his early 30s. Best known for his role in the Dune franchise, Chalamet also starred in one of Christopher Nolan’s biggest movies of all time, Interstellar. Chalamet has already been nominated for four Oscars in his young career, including three for his performances in Call Me By Your Name, A Complete Unknown, and Marty Supreme, and he was also credited for Marty Supreme’s Best Picture nomination as a producer on the film. Chalamet will return to his role as Paul Atreides later this year in Dune: Part Three, which is expected to take the crown from Interstellar as the highest-grossing movie of his career.

Dune: Part Two is the second-highest-grossing movie of Timothée Chalamet’s career, but it still earned over $700 million at the global box office. The third-highest-grossing film of his career is Wonka, the musical that dropped at the end of 2023 and somehow scored $634 million during its theatrical run. It’s been rumored for a while that a sequel to Wonka has been in the works at Warner Bros, but doubt was recently cast on the fate of Wonka 2 when writer Simon Farnaby, who spoke about the film during an interview to talk about other projects like The Magic Faraway Tree. “He [Timothée Chalamet] wants to do one, but he’s not sure about timing or what he wants to do next,” said Farnaby. He then claimed that the film had been “delayed indefinitely.” Farnaby has now also walked back these comments with a new post on social media.

What’s Next For Timothée Chalamet After ‘Dune: Part Three’?

Timothée Chalamet has a new movie coming out only a few months after Dune: Part Three. He will star opposite Selena Gomez in the animated sci-fi film, Not Alone, which is being brought to theaters on April 16, 2027, courtesy of Illumination and Universal Pictures. The film will follow a rocket mechanic and an astro-botanist who develop feelings for each other while preparing for a revolutionary rocket launch. Jonathan del Val is co-directing the film with Claire Dodgson and Eric Guillon. Additional cast members include Brett Goldstein from Ted Lasso, Rob Brydon, Jamie Demetriou, Diane Morgan, Allison Janney, Lamorne Morris, and Courtney Shaw. The film will stream on Peacock at the end of its theatrical run at a currently undisclosed date.
