Taylor Sheridan has star-making capabilities like few other writers, especially for those he puts in his biggest Paramount Plus shows. One of the brightest up-and-coming stars to benefit the most from starring in a Taylor Sheridan-written project is Brandon Sklenar, who was once just known as the guy from 1923, the Yellowstone prequel starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren. Last year, Sklenar headlined one of the biggest movies of the year in The Housemaid (co-starring Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried), and he’s also set to reunite with Sheridan for his new Sicario-style action thriller, F.A.S.T. Another star that has certainly benefited from his role in a Sheridan-written and produced project is Garrett Hedlund, who has featured prominently in the first three seasons of Tulsa King, starring Sylvester Stallone.

Even before his role in Tulsa King, Hedlund was a star known for his work in other films like Tron: Legacy, Four Brothers, On the Road, and Mudbound. The latter project is streaming on Netflix, and Hedlund is set to return to the platform for his new Nashville-set mystery thriller, Heartland. This morning, Netflix unleashed the first-look photos of Heartland, which also stars Jessica Chastain, Carter Faith, Ross Lynch, Paul Sparks, Jennifer Nettles, and even John Hawkes. The streamer also confirmed that the film will have its worldwide premiere later this year on November 13. Hailing from writer/director Shana Feste, the official logline for Netflix’s Heartland reads as follows: “Former country megastar, Misty Jones, comes out of seclusion to investigate the disappearance of her missing niece, a rising country musician, and must grapple with her own past and Nashville’s seedy underbelly. Her search uncovers a murky side of Nashville where no one, including Misty, is who they seem.”

The fifth and final season of Outer Banks is sitting unchallenged at the top of Netflix streaming charts right now, with fans rushing to check out new episodes and officially say goodbye to the Pogues forever. Netflix subscribers are also enjoying some reality TV thanks to the new season of Love Is Blind: UK, which sees contestants commit to marrying someone without ever seeing them. As for movies, Matt Damon’s reviled fantasy bomb, The Great Wall, is having a run of streaming redemption on Netflix right now.
