‘Everyone In My Family Has Killed Someone’: Penn Badgley to Star in New Prime Video Mystery Series!!

You reached its shocking conclusion last year, with charismatic serial killer Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) finally facing justice for five seasons of shocking crimes. Now, Badgley is getting back into the murder business, but this time, he won’t be committing them; he’ll be solving them.

Badgley first shot to fame as Dan Humphrey on the soapy CW drama Gossip Girl before starring on You, which he also produced. He’s next set to star in the romantic comedy You Deserve Each Other with Meghann Fahy, and the thriller NDA with Rachel Zegler. Now, he’s partnering with Prime Video, who are releasing You Deserve Each Other, for a new blackly comedic murder mystery series.

Badgley will star in the new Prime Video series Everyone In My Family Has Killed Someone. He’ll play Ern Cunningham, a mystery writer who reluctantly returns to his hometown in snowy rural Vermont to welcome his brother Michael home alongside the rest of their extended family. It’s an especially awkward reunion because Michael is being released from prison…and Ern helped get him convicted. Things go from bad to worse when a frozen-solid corpse turns up, and a brutal snowstorm traps the whole family inside. Now, the bodies are starting to pile up, and Ern is realizing that everybody is a suspect…because, as the title implies, everyone in his family has killed someone. The series is in development; no release date has yet been announced.

Everyone In My Family Has Killed Someone is adapted from the novel of the same name by Benjamin Stevenson; the book is the first of a series that’s run for four books and counting, so there’s plenty of material for future seasons if the adaptation is a success. The series will be showrun by David Hemingson, who penned the Oscar-nominated screenplay for The Holdovers. Hemingson will also executive produce, alongside Bruna Papandrea, Steve Hutensky, and Jeanne Snow of Made Up Stories, Molly Allen, author Stevenson, and star Badgley. It is a production of Amazon MGM Studios, Made Up Stories, and Fifth Season.
