How many Oscars does Mahershala Ali have

At the 2017 Oscars, Moonlight won the Academy Award for Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay for Jenkins and Tarell Alvin McCraney. However, Mahershala Ali also won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for the 2016 movie.

In the movie, Ali played Juan, a Miami-based drug dealer. His character served as a father figure to the protagonist, Chiron. As a mentor to Chiron, Juan offered him a safe space and life lessons, especially during his troubled childhood.

Two years later, in 2019, the Oscar-winning actor won another Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for Green Book. Helmed by Peter Farrelly, Green Book follows the unexpected friendship between an Italian-American bouncer, Tony Lip, and a refined Black classical pianist, Dr. Don Shirley.
