‘Prison Break: Black Creek’ Has Officially Begun Production!!

There are only a few iconic TV shows that have stood the test of time, but one of them that has become more and more divisive as the years pass is Prison Break. The first season of Prison Break is widely hailed as one of the best seasons of TV ever, and although the show was originally only planned for one season, the intense demand for more episodes prompted the network to bring the show back for several more seasons, but things went downhill quickly. Most fans agree that the second and third seasons of Prison Break, while still watchable, are nowhere near as good as Season 1. It wasn’t until Seasons 4 and 5 came along that the show began to tarnish its good name.

Prison Break is getting another shot at redemption soon with the new reboot series that’s been in development for well over a year now. While casting has been steadily coming out in recent months, more overarching details about the show were being kept under wraps, until today. The official Disney Plus Canada X account shared the first look at the new Prison Break reboot series, which has been titled Prison Break: Black Creek. The new tweet also confirmed that the show is now in production, though there’s no word yet on when it will be released, other than it’s “coming soon.” Those who are hoping to see Michael Scofield or Lincoln Burrows in the show will be disappointed, though — while Prison Break: Black Creek does take place in the same world as Prison Break, no characters from the original show are expected to appear in the reboot series.

Starring in one of the lead roles in Prison Break: Black Creek is Emily Browning, who has been tapped to play Cassidy Collins in the reboot. Browning is best known for her role as Violet in the Series of Unfortunate Events movie. Lukas Gage, best known for his work as Dillon in The White Lotus and Tyler in Euphoria, will also star in the Prison Break reboot as Jackson. Additional cast members include Drake Rodger, Chris Coy, Ray McKinnon, Jason Wiles, Jonathan Chase, Michael Rose, and more.
