‘X-Men’ Reboot Officially Casts Asa Germann as Angel!!

There’s no better time to be a fan of Marvel’s X-Men than right now. Marvel Animation recently unleashed the second season of X-Men ‘97 earlier this year after a two-year hiatus, and Marvel has also confirmed that Seasons 3 and 4 of the show will premiere in the next two years, eliminating any more years-long gap between seasons. There’s also a new Wolverine video game courtesy of Insomniac launching exclusively on PlayStation 5 next week. The game has come out of the gate slowly with the worst review scores of any Insomniac Marvel title, but it’s still expected to be one of the biggest video games of the year. There’s also Marvel Studios’ highly anticipated X-Men reboot movie, which is moving forward quickly after it was announced that it’s coming to theaters in less than two years.

Back at D23, Marvel Studios announced that its currently untitled X-Men reboot film is launching in theaters around the world on May 5, 2028. This is only six months after the release of Avengers: Secret Wars, which is expected to serve as something of a soft reboot for the MCU. The only mutant to make their MCU debut so far is Jean Grey (played by Sadie Sink), who appeared in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Marvel has since announced other cast members, including Inde Navarette as Rogue, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Christopher Abbott as Professor X, Adam Driver as Mister Sinister, Kit Connor as Cyclops, and even Maya Boyd as Storm. This X-Men roster got even deeper this afternoon, when news broke that Asa Germann has been cast as Warren Worthington in Marvel’s X-Men movie, also known as the winged mutant Angel.

What Else Has Asa Germann Been In?

Asa Germann is best known for his role as Sam Riordan in the first two seasons of Gen V, the superhero spin-off show on Prime Video. The show is an offshoot of The Boys, in which Germann appeared in the fourth season as Sam. He also joined the Scream universe earlier this year with his role as Lucas Bowden in Scream 7, the hit horror blockbuster that grossed over $200 million at the box office against a modest $45 million budget. Germann’s only other acting roles have come in other projects such as Monster, Caviar, and Two Little Boys, but he’s not-so-quietly becoming a massive breakout star.
