AMC+ has announced the release date for its upcoming horror-mystery TV show starring Carrie-Anne Moss. The eight-episode series draws on ancient folklore, giving it a darker, more unsettling edge than any average crime drama.
YAGA premieres with its first two episodes on Friday, October 23, exclusively on AMC+. Before it hits streaming platforms, the series will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 17. It will be followed by a special panel at New York Comic Con on October 9, where exclusive footage can be seen.
The footage opens with Rapp, played by Noah Reid, a private investigator arriving in a coastal town by helicopter, establishing the show’s isolated, small-town feel. Local police then assign him an aide to help with the investigation, marking the beginning of a search for the truth behind the missing-person mystery.

What to know about AMC+’s Yaga before its premiere
Based on Kat Sandler’s hit stage play, the show reimagines the ancient myth of Baba Yaga as a modern, spellbinding mystery thriller. The story follows Rapp, a private investigator who travels to the coastal town of Whittock to find a missing heir to a powerful fishery.
His investigation quickly puts him at odds with the local detective, played by Clark Backo. Rapp also encounters Katherine, played by Carrie-Anne Moss, a charismatic university professor who finds herself drawn to younger men. The case quickly pulls him into a complex web of secret lives, ancient magic, and enigmatic suspects.
Hudson Williams plays the missing person. Other supporting roles include Megan Follows, Hiro Kanagawa, Sheila McCarthy, Katharine Isabelle, Patrick Gilmore, and Ezra Franky.
Kat Sandler also serves as executive producer, writer, and showrunner. David Frazee and Rachel Talalay direct the series, with Carrie-Anne Moss, Mackenzie Donaldson, and Andrew Miller serving as executive producers.
After the first two episodes drop on October 23, new episodes will follow every Friday. The final two episodes will premiere on November 27, exclusively on AMC+.
