‘Slow Horses’ Already Renewed for Season 8!!

The return of Apple TV‘s flagship series, Ted Lasso, has dominated the streaming charts for the last few weeks. Ted (Jason Sudeikis) and Coach Beard (Brendan Hunt) have joined Alice Chilton (Tanya Reynolds) in coaching the new Lady Greyhounds, and viewers have been watching in record-breaking numbers, with 296.6 million viewing minutes during its two-day launch, which marks an official record for Apple TV. But if the reign of Ted Lasso is to be stopped, it will most likely be by the return of Apple TV‘s best spy series.

Slow Horses, the hit spy thriller based on a series of novels by Mick Herron, is making its exciting sixth-season return this week on September 16, as the cynical head of Slough House, Jackson Lamb (Gary Oldman), faces a targeted list looking to wipe out his entire team. In a change from the usual format, Season 6 will adapt not one but two of Herron‘s action-packed novels — Joe Country (2019) and Slough House (2021) — and will feature six episodes in total, running weekly until Wednesday, October 21.

Already, the sixth season is earning plenty of critical praise, scoring a perfect 100% on Rotten Tomatoes and being called an “even twistier and more unpredictable” season in Collider’s review. But before the next batch of must-watch episodes debuts, Apple TV has blessed fans with the news they’d all been hoping for, following last night’s Primetime Emmy win for Saul Metzstein, who took home the trophy for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series for the Season 4 episode titled “Scars”. Slow Horses will officially return for an eighth season, which will follow the already confirmed seventh.

What is ‘Slow Horses’ Season 8 About?

Academy Award winner Oldman will return as Jackson Lamb for Season 8, which will feature another six episodes and will be adapted from Clown Town, the ninth novel in Herron‘s Slough House book series. “Season eight sees Jackson Lamb and Diana Taverner face off in their most explosive confrontation yet,” a synopsis reveals. “When a botched attempt to blackmail the Park puts Taverner on the offensive, it is up to Lamb to unravel one of MI5’s darkest secrets and put an end to it once and for all.”

Slow Horses will return for an eighth season on Apple TV, with Season 6 debuting on September 16.
