Presumed Innocent is one of the most acclaimed TV legal thrillers in recent years; the Apple TV series is now headed into its second season with an all-new cast. Now, one of its writers and producers is taking his talents to network television with Katie Greaves, a new legal thriller series that’s just been green-lit at Fox to premiere during the 2027-28 TV season. It’s set to star a small-screen legend who’ll be headlining her first network TV series in a decade.
Created by writer and playwright Sharr White, Katie Greaves will center around the title character, a former New Hampshire public defender who stepped away from the law after a devastating personal tragedy. She and her husband are left to raise their two young grandchildren, but Greaves finds herself once more drawn to the courtroom. In addition to White, the series will also be produced by legendary filmmaker Ridley Scott, via his Scott Free Productions, and David W. Zucker.
Deadline reports that Katie Greaves will star four-time Emmy winner Edie Falco in the title role; it will be her first lead network TV role since she starred as Leslie Abramson, lawyer to Erik and Lyle Menendez, in the short-lived anthology docudrama series Law & Order True Crime. Falco will also serve as an executive producer on the series. Falco, of course, is famous for playing iconic anti-heroines like conflicted mob wife Carmela Soprano on The Sopranos and drug-addicted medical professional Jackie Peyton on Nurse Jackie. She’s coming off a stint on the Taylor Sheridan series Mayor of Kingstown, which has just wrapped its fifth and final season; she starred as new prison warden Nina Hobbs, who frequently butts heads with local fixer Mike McClusky (Jeremy Renner).
What Other New TV Series Have Recently Been Green-Lit on Fox?
Although the 2026-27 TV season has just begun, the TV networks are busy at work filling out their schedules for next year. Fox has also recently given the green light to Mammoth, a new high-concept comedy series from Modern Family‘s Christopher Lloyd and Danny Zuker. It will center around Tony Mammoth, a high school gym teacher who gets buried in a freak avalanche in 1983. Left in suspended animation for decades, he’s thawed out in the modern day to learn that much has changed.
Katie Greaves will premiere during the 2027-28 TV season on Fox.
