Cara Delevingne is set to star in an upcoming erotic thriller, taking center stage in a dramatic love triangle for writer-director Paul Schrader.
According to Deadline, Delevingne has joined Sam Worthington and Liam Hemsworth as the lead cast in Schrader’s upcoming erotic thriller Non Compos Mentis. More details about the additional cast have not been finalized yet.
Production on the movie will begin next month in New York. Schrader will serve as both writer and director.
Schrader is best known for his collaborations with Martin Scorsese. He wrote and co-wrote the screenplays for Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, The Last Temptation of Christ, and Bringing Out the Dead. His directorial works include American Gigolo, Blue Collar, Hardcore, Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters, and more.
Most recently, Schrader sparked controversy for saying he plans to use AI after he could not secure Black actors for his long-delayed movie Three Guns at Dawn.
Speaking with The Playlist at the Venice Film Festival, Schrader said, “We sent it out to actors, and no Black actors wanted to play in a movie where there are no good Black people.” He added, “And it sort of died. But then AI came along, and I didn’t need Black actors.”
Cara Delevingne and Liam Hemsworth join a twisted love triangle
Paul Schrader’s upcoming movie Non Compos Mentis will see Cara Delevingne in an intense love triangle with Liam Hemsworth and Sam Worthington. According to the official logline, the movie “centers on two privileged brothers confronting their mother’s decline into dementia: one a polished New York defense attorney, the other a hard-edged corporate heir.”
The synopsis adds, “Their uneasy dynamic fractures when the attorney embarks on a consuming affair with a younger woman, igniting a volatile love triangle that unleashes obsession, betrayal, and a ruthless battle for control of the family fortune.”
David Gonzales, Schrader’s manager and producing partner, is producing the movie. Meanwhile, Nadine de Barros of Fortitude International serves as executive producer.
