An Avengers: Doomsday star has been cast in the role previously played by the late Tom Noonan in Heat 2. The upcoming Leonardo DiCaprio movie is currently in production.
According to recent reports from The Wrap, Ebon Moss-Bachrach is almost set to play Kelso in Heat 2. The character was originally played by Noonan back in 1995. Further updates stated that the director, Michael Mann, initially considered casting Guy Pearce for the role.
Moss-Bachrach will add to the cast’s star power. The 49-year-old star is well known for his performance in Hulu’s The Bear, which earned him two Emmy Awards. As for his recent credits, Moss-Bachrach appeared in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, where he played Ben Grimm. Interestingly, he will also reprise his role in Marvel Studios’ December release, Avengers: Doomsday.

Heat 2 is based on the 2022 crime thriller novel of the same name, co-written by the film director Michael Mann and Meg Gardiner. Alongside DiCaprio and Moss-Bachrach, the cast of the action drama features Christian Bale as Vincent Hanna, Stephen Graham as Neil McCauley, and Jason Clarke. Adding to them, Adam Driver, Odessa Young, and María Cid are rumored to join the cast as well.
According to IMDb, the synopsis for Heat 2 reads, “1988, Chicago: McCauley and his gang carry out robberies on the West Coast and the Mexico-USA border. Detective Hanna kills McCauley in a confrontation at LAX. Years later, in LA, Hanna hunts down Chris Shiherlis, the group’s last survivor.”
Director Mann is producing the project alongside Jan Pance, Jerry Bruckheimer, Art Linson, Nick Nesbitt, and Scott Stuber. Eric Roth and Shane Salerno are the executive producers. A release date for the feature has not been announced yet.
