Robert Pattinson Doesn’t Think His Batman Should Join James Gunn’s DCU!!

It’s safe to say 2026 is the year of Robert Pattinson, and he’s not slowing down anytime soon as he has even more projects coming out before the end of the year. Pattinson’s year began back in April when he teamed up with Zendaya for The Drama, the underrated A24 rom-com that grossed $134 million at the box office before becoming a streaming smash on HBO Max. Pattinson and Zendaya reunited just a few months later for Christopher Nolan’s new movie, The Odyssey, which is finally coming to VOD this November after crushing dozens of box office records. The duo is teaming up once again at the end of the year for Dune: Part Three, which will be one of the first times in history that a pair of stars had three movies together in the same year.

Between promoting his many movies this year, Robert Pattinson has been hard at work this year shooting the highly anticipated sequel to his 2022 film, The Batman. After suffering several delays, the film is now scheduled to be released in theaters on February 18, 2028, nearly six years after the premiere of the original film. Many fans have speculated that these delays were due to the sequel now taking place in the DCU, but during a recent interview with LADbible to promote his new movie Primetime, Pattinson safely ruled this out: “I think it would be kind of tough to have this version of Bruce outside of that world… it’s such a specific kind of [style], the tone of it gets inside you.” Pattinson has seemingly ruled out his version of Bruce Wayne ever existing in another universe.

Who Else Stars In ‘The Batman: Part 2’?

Joining Robert Pattinson to star in The Batman Part 2 from the first film are Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred, and Colin Farrell as The Penguin. Sebastian Stan and Scarlett Johansson have also been cast in key roles in The Batman Part 2, and while it’s been speculated that they will play members of the Dent family, this has yet to be officially confirmed. Charles Dance, famed for his role as Tywin Lannister in HBO’s Game of Thrones, has also joined the cast of The Batman Part 2, along with Brian Tyree Henry and Sebastian Koch.
