Charlie Sheen Sets Comedy Return With New Series Co-Starring Martin Sheen!!

Charlie Sheen is heading back to TV. The actor is returning to lead a family comedy with his father, Martin Sheen. It’s also his first time back in front of a live studio audience in 12 years.

AMC Global Media has ordered Happy Jack, a six-episode multi-camera sitcom that will begin production in Los Angeles early next year. The show will premiere on AMC and AMC+ in 2027, per The Hollywood Reporter.

Charlie Sheen stars as Jack Chambers, with Martin Sheen playing his on-screen father. The series will be filmed in front of a live studio audience at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, on the same soundstage where Friends was filmed. Happy Jack marks AMC’s first multi-camera sitcom.

The story follows Jack, a man who has built a business around a booze company named after himself. His straight-laced daughter is his business partner, while his free-spirited daughter pursues a musical career.

When his younger daughter returns home and announces her plan to marry a man as old as Jack, the situation becomes challenging for the family. Jack must deal with his daughter’s relationship while trying to be a more involved father.

Here’s what to know about Happy Jack and the team behind Charlie Sheen’s TV return

Happy Jack comes from Jim Patterson and Matt Ross, who previously worked on Two and a Half Men. Eric and Kim Tannenbaum, who also executive produced that sitcom, are among the executive producers on the series.

Charlie Sheen is also an executive producer, alongside Todd Christopher and Jason Wang. The project is produced by AMC Studios and The Tannenbaum Company.

Sheen addressed the project in a statement, saying he was excited to return to television with a show and adding, “The crew has reassembled – suffice it to say, it’s time to give the people what they want.”

The sitcom marks another collaboration between the Sheens after their appearances together. Martin Sheen has also discussed the project with his son on his podcast, where Charlie described Happy Jack as a family sitcom.

AMC plans to present the series to buyers at MIPCOM in Cannes in October, ahead of its 2027 premiere.
