‘Avatar: Seven Havens’ Renewed For Season 3 & 4!!

Avatar: The Last Airbender fans have had to endure plenty of controversy this year, but things are finally looking up for the future of the franchise. Coming into the year, one of the most exciting projects on deck was Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender, the animated sequel film continuing the story of the original Aang gang that concluded in 2008. Things unraveled quickly when the entire film leaked online around six months before release, and although the leak was swiftly plugged, it’s estimated that millions had the chance to watch it before its official release. Still, this hasn’t stopped Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender from being one of the most-watched movies of the entire year on Paramount+, where it’s still hanging around in the top 10 in a few countries.

Next up on the slate for the Avatar franchise is the new animated series, Avatar: Seven Havens, which debuted its first three episodes on Paramount+ today. The show follows a young earthbender named Pavi, who is the next Avatar in the cycle after Korra — what sets Seven Havens apart is that it’s set in a world where the average person views the Avatar as the destroyer of the world, not its savior. Though it’s unclear at this time when it will be released, the show had already been renewed for Season 2, but Paramount further doubled down on the series this afternoon with an exciting new announcement. Paramount confirmed today that Avatar: Seven Havens has already been renewed for Seasons 3 and 4, meaning the show will run at least as long as the original Avatar: The Last Airbender series.

Who Wrote ‘Avatar: Seven Havens’?

Avatar: Seven Havens was written and created for TV by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, who are also the creators of the original Avatar series. The two haven’t really been involved in many Avatar projects since The Last Airbender wrapped up years ago — they are not involved in the live-action series on Netflix, which has been quite divisive among fans through two seasons. Paramount clearly trusts the direction of Konietzko and DiMartino, as evidenced by the studio giving them a green light for three more seasons despite only three total episodes being released to the public.
