Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz have reunited as two of the most iconic characters for The Mummy 4. The new set photos offer a first look at the duo in the upcoming adventure movie, giving fans a positive production update.
On X, new set photos from The Mummy 4 were posted, providing a first look at Fraser and Weisz’s characters, Rick O’Connell and Carnahan-O’Connell. In the images, Fraser wears a brown suede jacket over a green plaid shirt. In contrast, Weisz wears a burgundy blazer and matching skirt.
The two appear to be filming a confrontational scene, facing each other at the center of the production crew. The behind-the-scenes pictures also offer an unfiltered look at their relationship, as they laugh and share a warm moment. This also gives fans a positive update that production on the fourth installment of the franchise is underway.
What do we know about The Mummy 4 so far?
The latest photos offer fans a first look at the two leads; however, other set images have been released previously. For instance, not long ago, Fraser was seen filming what appeared to be an action-heavy sequence. Moreover, Weisz was spotted shooting near the British Museum in September.
Although still untitled, The Mummy 4 comes as a direct sequel to 1999’s The Mummy and its 2001 sequel, The Mummy Returns. However, the movie does not follow the events of The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008). Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin direct the upcoming movie.
The returning cast also includes John Hannah as Jonathan Carnahan, Arnold Vosloo as Imhotep, Oded Fehr as Ardeth Bay, and Kevin J. O’Connor as Beni Gabor. Numan Acar and Michael Johnston also join the cast in the upcoming installment.
The Mummy 4 is scheduled for release on October 15, 2027.
