Chris Pratt Confirms Star-Lord Will Return to the MCU!!

Chris Pratt just made a bold promise about Star-Lord’s MCU future, but one major detail remains a mystery. The actor confirmed Marvel has taken concrete steps toward bringing Peter Quill back while keeping fans guessing about the timeline.

Chris Pratt makes a bold Star-Lord promise but leaves one big question

Chris Pratt confirmed Star-Lord’s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe but refused to reveal specific timing. Speaking to The Playlist’s Bingeworthy podcast while promoting The Terminal List Season 2, Pratt shared that Marvel has moved beyond just talking about bringing Peter Quill back.

“I have a great relationship with Kevin [Feige] and Lou [D’Esposito], and there have been both ongoing conversations about how we make good on that promise and also hard action taken to make sure that we make good on that promise,” he said. Pratt added with confidence about the character’s future. “So yeah, you’ll see Star-Lord again, which is very exciting, but I’m not at liberty to say when that’s going to be, but he’s not going anywhere.”

The comments follow Pratt’s earlier remarks this year about pitching a Star-Lord story to Marvel. He had previously described that pitch as “f**king great.” Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 ended with a post-credits promise that the character would return. However, more than three years later, that tease has not yet materialized on screen.

Several upcoming Marvel projects could serve as a vehicle for Quill’s comeback. The Russo Brothers have teased surprises for Avengers: Doomsday and its sequel Avengers: Secret Wars. Meanwhile, screenwriter Michael Waldron is developing the Nova film featuring Richard Rider. The Guardians trilogy previously introduced the Nova Corps, which Thanos destroyed off-screen on Xandar. That film could naturally reconnect with Star-Lord’s cosmic corner of the MCU.

In the comics, John C. Reilly’s character Rhomann Dey mentors Rider as they rebuild the intergalactic police force. This storyline could potentially pull Quill back into space after he returned to Earth. Pratt’s The Terminal List Season 2 debuted on Prime Video on October 21.
