‘Elden Ring’: A24’s Live-Action Movie Secures Massive Deal with Amazon MGM Studios!!

A24’s upcoming Elden Ring movie is shaping up to be one of the studio’s most ambitious projects yet. The live-action adaptation brings the popular fantasy video game to the big screen. Directed by Alex Garland, the film will arrive in theaters in 2028.

According to Deadline, the film has secured a major international streaming deal with Amazon MGM Studios. The report estimates its budget at $175 million to $200 million, making it the biggest-budget standalone project ever offered at a film or television market. Amazon MGM has acquired international pay-one streaming rights in a deal worth tens of millions of dollars. The agreement could also lead to promotional activities on Twitch.

The reported budget also makes Elden Ring A24’s most expensive production to date. The previous record-holder was Marty Supreme, which reportedly cost around $70 million to produce.

Elden Ring movie boasts an all-star cast led by Kit Connor

Elden Ring features Kit Connor in the lead role, alongside Ben Whishaw and Cailee Spaeny. The cast also includes Tom Burke, Havana Rose Liu, Sonoya Mizuno, Jonathan Pryce, Ruby Cruz, Nick Offerman, John Hodgkinson, Jefferson Hall, Emma Laird, and Peter Serafinowicz.

Garland wrote and directed the adaptation of FromSoftware’s 2022 role-playing game. The original game takes place in the Lands Between. The fantasy realm features powerful enemies, ancient mysteries, and rival factions that compete for control after the Elden Ring shatters.

George R.R. Martin, who helped develop the game’s mythology, is also serving as a producer on the film. However, the filmmakers have yet to reveal detailed plot information or confirm how closely the film will follow the game’s events.

With its established cast and international streaming deal, the adaptation marks a major investment for A24 as it expands into big-budget fantasy filmmaking. The film will release in theaters and IMAX on March 3, 2028.
