Game of Thrones transformed modern television by setting a new benchmark for epic fantasy adaptations and gripping screen storytelling. Now, Author John Gwynne confirms that his bestselling fantasy book series will replicate that massive global success. Readers and viewers of Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings can expect another sprawling universe brought to life on the small screen soon.
The Faithful and the Fallen TV show in development
John Gwynne confirmed that The Faithful and the Fallen is in development. The announcement brings another bestselling fantasy series to television. However, no platform or release date has been revealed yet.
Gwynne announced the news through Josh Smith on Instagram. In the video, Gwynne was seen stating, “John Gwynne’s The Faithful and the Fallen, best selling epic fantasy series is now in development for a major TV series.”
The series includes four books published between 2012 and 2016. The books follow a young blacksmith’s son named Corban. He dreams of becoming a soldier serving King Brenin. However, Corban soon becomes involved in a dangerous prophecy.
His journey connects him with several powerful characters. These include skilled swordsman Verandis and Prince Nathair. King Brenin’s chief counselor, Evnis, also plays an important role.
However, other details about the television project remain unknown. There is no confirmed producer, streaming platform, or cast, and it is also unclear whether the show will be animated or live-action. These works have further established Gwynne’s place in fantasy literature.
His other works include the Of Blood and Bone series, featuring A Time of Dread, A Time of Blood, and A Time of Courage, as well as The Bloodsworn Saga trilogy, which includes The Shadow of the Gods, The Hunger of the Gods, and The Fury of the Gods.
Fantasy adaptations are becoming popular, with shows like GOT, The Rings of Power, and The Mighty Nein. For now, fantasy book fans will have to wait for further announcements. Still, the development news is exciting for fantasy readers.
